Effective Supervisory Skills

Supervisors play a key role in any organization. They are responsible for creating a link between upper management and front-line employees, and have a dramatic impact on employee performance and behavior.

In this program your supervisors will gain an understanding of their role in the organization, acquire knowledge of the legal issues and liabilities facing supervisors, and have a desire to develop more effective supervisory skills and leadership competencies. Participants of this program will be able to recognize and avoid mistakes common for new supervisors, seek to create win/win outcomes, and will be able to identify legal issues and how to avoid liability, as well as uphold compliance.

Ryan McShane, President/CEO of HR Evolution, LLC

Ryan McShane, has been serving the Human Resources Profession for over 20 years and currently operates a consulting firm specializing in Human Resources Consulting, Leadership Development and Career Transitions Consulting called HR Evolution LLC.

Prior, to that Ryan worked in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors, learning the various cultural norms, principles and practices of each sector and applying that learning to create High Performance Leaders and Organizations today throughout Maryland and Pennsylvania. Ryan is also a past president for the largest Local SHRM Chapter in the state of Maryland, Chesapeake Human Resource Association, (CHRA).

Ryan is passionate about creating proactive learning and cultural transformation experiences enabling individuals and organizations to achieve their highest potential through developing a greater curiosity, awareness and a conscious approach to leadership and employee/employer relations. The goal being dynamic and flexible teams who are purpose-focused and guided by values and principles wherein all stakeholders are
honored, People, Planet and Profit.

  1. Understand and describe supervisory role in the organization.
  2. State legal issues and liabilities facing supervisors.
  3. Identify effective supervisory skills and leadership competencies.

  • Ability to develop plans to improve personal performance
  • Create a personal leadership statement
  • Practice developing win-win situations
